day 5 of my trip (april 5/07)

We spent the next morning in Philadelphia at the Mint. It was so cool looking at the process of our coins being made. There is a Mint in Denver as well. And as a child for a school field trip I had been to the Denver Mint. It was fun to go to the Philadelphia Mint as an adult. No cameras were allowed in the Mint Building. We had tried to go in the day before, but because we had our cameras with us they won't let you in. So this time we left them in the safety of the trunk , and went on in. It is a self-guided tour. Which is nice in some ways because you can wand4er for as long as you wish. It would have been nice to ask someone some of my burning questions though. We ate lunch in downtown Philly and headed back to New York City.
We got all dressed up and then got back in the car to go to dinner and theatre. This is the picture of traffic to use the Lincoln Tunnel. It almost made us late for our dinner reservations. It was at this cute "french" restaurant called Le Madeline. I use the term french very loosely. I was expecting something quite different. It was good don't get me wrong. Just not what I was thinking. Dinner and dessert was really nice. This was my chocolate-caramel mousse.

Dad had the creme brule.

We then walked to Times Square. The sign says it all. CLOUDY. It was cold out and really windy too. Even a few snowflakes in the air. I really wanted a full dusting of snow to cover the city, but no such luck. I did see snowflakes though while in NYC, so I will be happy with that.

Then we headed to the theatre to see Les Miserables. It was fantastic. It is one of my all-time favourite stories. The play was so good. Made me cry. It was so worth it though.

Thank you for sharing New York! I doubt I'll ever get there and it was great to see it through your eyes!

I'm sure Les Mis was fantastic...a true New York trip to go to the theatre.
