Amuse me.

Saw this Amuse saying and had to have two stamps to go with it. This recliner is one of them (Great Impressions). Cuttlebug you are my friend again after all this time. I have missed you.

Canvas

My new canvas that I did with Stampin Up vinyl Decor Elements quote (pg. 29 in the 2010/2011 Definitely Decorative mini catalog). It is the small option, and definitely larger than it looks in the catalog. Flowers by Prima. Paint "cream" by Heidi Swapp. Buttons from Rhonda. The canvas is 24" h by 30" w. It is now hanging in my entryway.

another girl

Somewhere there is another girl prettier than you, smarter than you, taller than you, skinnier than you. Another girl somewhere is more outgoing, more laid back, more interesting, more athletic. Another girl somewhere is not you. You may not be perfect, but someone someday will think you are. He will love you for each and every imperfection and flaw. He will wait all day just to see you and stay all night just to hold you. To him, you will be more than perfect, you’ll be the love of his life.

Digital

I have officially ordered the Stampin Up My Digital Studio software. After my friend and demonstrator Sarah convinced me. Yep. It is time to start scrapping digitally. Cardmaking is still my first love and I think I may like this digital thing better. Yeah for a new computer with a massive hard drive. Whoo hoo!!

And I may have ordered enough just in the nick of time to get a Saleabration set or two. The Saleabration ends on Wednesday. So get to clicking and get your order in.

I ordered some of the new clear blockable stamp sets to try out. They are still red rubber with foam mount to use on the clear blocks. I am so excited!!

Oscars

Okay so I was not a very good Oscar nominee movie watcher this year. But I did manage to make it to the movies for a couple of them. In the local movie theatre the arts council sponsors a mini Film festival of sorts every spring. It runs once a week for 6 weeks. It is my favourite time of year. (Okay, anytime there is a film festival within driving distance is my favourite time of year.) I went this last week and saw An Education at the film fest. It was fantastic. Not at all what I expected, and an amazing film all around. And it was well deserving of it's nominations.

Earlier in the year I saw The Blind Side. It made me cry and I did like it a lot.

Still on my list of movies I must see is Up in the Air.

And I have no desire to see Avatar at all, not one single bit. I don't even feel like linking to it. That is how little I care for it. Google it if you are still interested in it. I am not.

All this to say, No, I didn't get to see the Oscar's this year. I will catch up with the award winners later online.

CreAtively BlocKed

Have been creatively challenged the past 9 months. Only made 2 cards at Christmas and not much else in the past 9 months. Today I got my haircut by my good friend Cindy at Tangles Hair Design here in Chilliwack. I was telling her my latest creative bug that I was inspired by. She encouraged me to follow through on it tonight. I picked up a kit at Classic Cards on Alexander and worked on it while watching LOST. However the kitten had other plans and this is what happened next.

Well I completed the first page at least. And at present the kitten is asleep in my lap again as I type this up.

Quote of the day

"There are plenty of fish in the sea. But really, there's not. It's not just our imaginations. It would be great if decent men were as plentiful as jumping salmon in a rushing river, but they aren't. For every Mr. Darcy (and he's married, incidentally) there are a hundred Mr. Wickhams. Or in more contemporary terms, for every one of Colin Firth, there are several thousand Hugh Grants. The odds are against us. But what can I say-I'm a romantic, and I can't abandon the fantasy of Prince Charming altogether. What girl with a heart can? I mean, I'm not asking to feed the five thousand; I just want one good fish! I should give up the dream. Especially now, when common sense dictates that anyone possessing an IQ might want to take serious stock. If I were in battle, the general would yell, "Retreat! Retreat, stupid!" Kristin Billerbeck

This quote of the day is brought to you by one of my favourite people ever my friend Ang.

Hooray It's a boy!

My coworker and friend had her 2nd baby boy yesterday. And I got to hold him when he was 7 hours old!! He is gorgeous. So being the good "auntie" that I am I went out shopping last evening for him and his big brother. I then made this card for them when I got home. I am really liking how it turned out for starting it so late in the evening.

Supplies:
Stampin Up Baja Breeze cardstock base and ink for the star. Basic Brown for the sentiment. Stampin Up Classic Backgrounds for the star, Wordsworth for the sentiment and the inner sentiment is Unity. Patterned Paper by Imaginisce. Nestabilities for the larger stars. And Stampin Up star and corners punches, plus some brads and ta-da it is done.

Cindy's birthday

Yesterday Rhonda planned a surprise birthday lunch for Cindy. It was such a great time. The cute tea shoppe/bakery was delicious. And the details in the shoppe were adorable. Some of the tables were placed on old Singer sewing machine foot pedals. And there was an old door on the wall as decoration. Time flew by and it was so great to spend time together with Sarah, Andrea, Madelyn, Andrew, Rhonda, and Cindy! I think we should do it every month!
I made this tent topper card for Cindy, whose kitchen is green! I didn't make the connection though until after my card was made and then I squealed with delight. All the stamps are Unity, my new favourite stamp company. I even joined their monthly kit club! It really is a great deal, and I love all the stamps that I have from them already! The window scene stamp is from the May kit of the month. And the flowers are from the November kit of the month. I paper pieced the curtains with some Making Memories paper. And then colored the top, the cup, and the flowers with my Copics. The flowers on the curtains are Prima and the brads are Making Memories. Used my Nestabilities Labels 2 for the tent topper part of the card. Cardstock is all stampin up, except for the white which is from a LSS for copics so I am not sure of the brand name. Ladies night out....and on location at the New Moon Set!!

Rhonda, Cindy and I lived life out on the edge this evening. Their husbands will think we were crazy, but out at 8pm we went looking for the New Moon Film Set for apparent filming at Bella's house. They may have doubted our abilities. But they were wrong. We found the set lot and we heard the wolves howl. It was an awesome night out. Now we have to go back during the day for better pictures!!

Approaching the set from the side field gave us great light and a good side view of the set location, but we couldn't see Bella's house.

We think that we can see a trailer here, after being asked to leave the location and our fabulous side view. LOL.

The back view of the lot, yes the lights really were that noticeable, with night filming apparently happening.

Rhonda navigated us back and around to find a new approach, stealth as we can in a car with camera's flashing!

Where we stopped for a while to see if any more vans would be coming or going, just in case we could see a star or two.

A new approach from the road where the van was seen coming in when we were still way across and walking on the field. Notice the blurry car lights up ahead? Another car approached the front entrance and we followed them in.

As close as we could be to the front gate without being yelled at by security. Yes we understand you have a job to do, all we want is just a non blurry picture or two, sir! All in all a successful evening out with Rhonda and Cindy. I am so thankful for my Twilight crazy friends!! Only 208 days till we see it back to back in the theatre girls!!!!

Coffee time

A plethora of stamps used today for this card. Stampin Up for the cup and steam. Lizzie Anne Designs for the sentiment. Inkadinkado for the circle distressed stamp (it reminded me of a coffee cup spill and I had to have it, in this case all my foam spilled out. he he) The foam is Liquid Applique and then colored with my Copic E35. The Ink is Stampin Up - Whisper White, Memento - Tuxedo Black, All My Memories - Caramel, Versamark. I embossed the sentiment with scented Gelly Powder by Gelatin Stamps, it is the Extra Foam Latte scent. The cardstock Chocolate Chip and patterned paper (I can't find the name of it) is Stampin Up. Except for the white cardstock which is by The Paper Cut. The Copics used are E 50,51,53 on the steam, R22, 24 on the heart, E 47, 49 on the middle of the cup, G 85 and BG93 on the cup top and bottom.

Dragonfly

Tried a new technique that I had seen online awhile back, stamped my Stampin Up vine from Baroque Motifs in Versamark and then re-stamped over the same area in Stazon white. The top lined up perfectly and looks fantastic, the bottom didn't line up as well and shows a bit more than I would like. Overall though I liked the look and would definitely try it again. The sentiment is from one of my favourite quote companies Stampers Anonymous. They always have great stamps and this one when I saw it I knew I had to have it for this year, my year of possibilities. The paper is leftover from another project and is by Imaginisce- Baby Powder King of the Crib. The cardstock is Stampin Up Kraft and Baja Breeze. The little dragonfly pebble is from Prima. Ribbon is from the stash. Scalloped punched by hand with the corner rounder and the double circle punch is Stampin Up.
