Camp Creations

So I spent two weeks as camp nurse at the end of July and beginning of August. It was fantastic. In my spare time though I got to make several cards as I had taken supplies with me. I ended up with several cards that I was quite pleased with. I even made this book mark which I used while reading my book for the week at camp: Bloodletting and Miraculous Cures by Vincent Lam.

Made with scraps from my SU cardstock pile, a pink brad and a Bazzill flower.

The inside says "U Rock"

Birthday Beauty

Made this card for my sister and mailed it 2 weeks ago, so hopefully she has already seen it in her hands before seeing it here. :P

my little bunny friend

My new bunny friend. Yes this cottontail is living in my yard. It is hardly big enough to fit in two hands and it is so fast. Sorry the picture is so far away. But I think if I got any closer the bunny wouldn't be in picture at all. S/he kept me amused all weekend.

Tri-fold cards

I had to try out my new circle stamps from Art Warehouse as seen here and here. The outer swirl, inner forever, and the journaling spot are from these two sets by limited edition rubber stamps. Found them in Squamish, BC on my recent trip with the girls from work at a local scrapbooking store. The owner was a sweetheart. I was so pleased with the store, I only wish it were closer. Hmm, maybe I need monthly trips to Whistler and Squamish? Loved the fact that I found new, not seen before stamps!!

This circle quote stamps is from the Creating Keepsakes monthly kit from May by Ali Edwards. The flower stamp is Stampin Up. Cardstock is from my stash and also SU.

happiness is scallops!!

Happiness is scallops!! Seriously!!
SU and Bazzill cardstock, SU classic ink, SU gingham, sheer ribbon, ribbon (striped) unknown, stickles glitter, Cuttlebug embossed paper from my friend Cindy *grin*, SU- Oval punches and flower punch, SU- retired set Mixed Bouquet *sniff I am going to miss this set*, large brad- unknown.

Junkitz Card kit

Bought this Junkitz card kit from a local store Scrapbook City in January on sale. Was sold as an autumn card set. In celebration of the new SU "Fall/Winter" catalog, I went ahead and put them together this long weekend. I was pleased that I had enough scraps to do some other cards, see below. he, he. Okay, so nine other cards. *grin* That doesn't include these!

Card kit scraps

So once I got on a roll this weekend, I really got on a roll. I played for 3 days. I watched movies and I played with my stamps. I pulled stamps out that hadn't seen the light of day in years. It was fantastic!! I am excited by these because they are masculine and that doesn't occur often enough when I pull out my stuff to stamp. I am quite pleased with them overall. And pleased that I used my scraps. Seriously only minuscule amounts of patterned paper survived from this kit.

friend layout

12 x12 page that I did this weekend of one of my favourite photos of my friend and I. I still need to do the journaling which I am planning to hand write in the top left hand side by the swirl. Have my favourite Staedler pens picked, just need to sit down and do it.

Bazzill and SU cardstock, Basic grey patterned paper, Sandylion rubons, Technique Tuesday chipboard, SU ink, stamps- alphabet unknown at the moment, will have to look them up at home.

Happy long weekend

Happy belated Canada Day, and Happy 4th of July. As an American living in Canada I get to celebrate both holidays. Whoo hoo. My long weekend off was a nice one full of crafting and dvd's. I will be posting my latest creations shortly. I hope that you all have a great week with your loved ones where ever you are.

Quick trip to Whistler

Went with some girls from work to Whistler for a quick 2 day trip last week on my days off. It was a good time. We rented a condo and it had its own hot tub on the deck. Went for a nice leisurely walk, did some shopping, and some fine dining. During said fine dining I deleted all my nice pictures from our lovely walk. :( I was so bummed. Oh well, now I know how that part of my camera functions. The pics from the rest of the trip aren't as nice as the ones I deleted. *Sigh*

Altered cap using scrapbooking supplies.

This is my altered baseball cap using scrapbooking supplies, and a sticker from Ballard (Seattle area) Washington "Cupcake Royale" store. (which is located in a coffeeshop which I can't remember the name of, sorry) I had gone down there a few weekends ago to see my good friend and had "the best weekend ever." It even included an exciting film at the Seattle International Film Festival!!!! Whoo-hoo!! Where I saw this film, Vanaja. The director was there to introduce the film and to take questions after the film was over. It was a great experience.

This is me in my altered hat for the Mad Hatter's Tea that I attended at Andrea and Cindy's church last week. We had made the 160 cards for the tea. Andrea and Cindy made the approximately 240 cupcakes!! The speaker and evening was really good. I am really glad that I went, despite my not wanting to wear a hat. After I altered my Yankees hat into a cupcake hat I was okay with wearing a hat. I use my Heidi Swapp ghost flowers in pink, and ribbon from my stash. Plus I mounted the sticker on some black cardstock. Used a MOD by Autumn leaves pillow cushion as a tag on the back. Am I allowed to say too cute?

One of the four card designs that Cindy, Andrea and I made for the tea party. Cindy had stamped it all out and we had lots of scraps leftover that we were trying to figure out what to do with for card #4. I had seen Beate's sketch earlier in the week and this is what we came up with. The cupcakes in real life are glittery. The cupcakes are from Lockhart stamps. The Best Wishes stamp is from Cindy's
