Christmas card contest entries
Sarah my SU demo who is uber-talented had a card contest and she just posted the winner. The winning card is stunning. These were my entries into her contest. I made them with my friend Cindy a few weeks ago in the midst of my car breaking down crisis. At least we were able to get some cards made in the middle of my car being in the repair shop. I used her SU Baroque Motifs stamp set. It actually is such a nice and versatile set. I mean hello- Christmas cards too!! Hmm, maybe I do need it before the new catalog comes out in January to tempt me.
Supplies- SU cardstock- Real Red, Handsome Hunter, Very Vanilla
SU- Ink- Handsome Hunter, Very vanilla- which I then embossed in gold as it didn't stand out as much as I had hoped it would.
Other- SU Brads
Stamps- SU- Baroque Motifs and All Year Cheer I (retired)

My 2nd entry. During the making of my first card I decided that the flowers definitely look like snowflakes as well, and so this card just totally came together.

SU- Stamps- Baroque Motifs, Warm Words
Other- Ribbon- SU retired. Brads- SU, glitter- stickles, Paper piercer, Circle punch 1 1/4,

Can't help posting this one. Had a good weekend. Even included a blind date in my activities. It was good. Made this card a while ago. It was one of those things that just had to be done. I love the Heidi Grace products. I even got to meet her once at a CK event in Washington. She's a really nice lady with a super great family. Friday, October 12, 2007

Java, Java, Java
Using what was on my table last week, and this is what was created. The coffee cup sticker is from EK Success, which I found at Walmart as a set for a $1.49. Whoo hoo. I love my Java! At work right now my screen saver is coffee cups and then the power saver screen says Java, Java, Java. Monday, October 08, 2007
Happy belated World Card making day.

This is all the stuff I had to take with me in my car to my friend's house in order to make that set of cards. he he! Gotta love the home front scrappin' and card makin' space. It requires so much less effort. At the end of the 2 day event- cuz I spent the night and we made cards the next day. My friend said- "you really need a tote on wheels!" Umm. I am not sure that it would help that much. But thanks for the advice, I will keep it under advisement. :) Hope that your Canadian Thanksgiving weekend was spectacular, and I hope that your world card making day was a success

dreaming about cards again
Seriously love that I dreamed about stamps and stamping again!! ( see below post from Oct. 1) This stamp has been in my possession for years!! And it is a square flower in four sizes, you know the cube type of stamp. I dreamed that I used it and then punched it with my circle punch, and so that is what I did!Supplies:
Cardstock- whisper white, Cool Caribbean- SU.
Stamps- flower- Deborah Farber designs, word stamp Short and Sweet-SU.
Ink- Versamark, basic black-SU

I also dreamed up another project too, but I have to find a few more parts, before I can put it together. Let me just say I love these sort of dreams. They are so much better than running around like a crazed nurse dreams!!

Not a winner, but I love it anyway!

Dreamed up this card the other afternoon, literally during my before night shift nap. It was different colors, but the strips, ribbon, corners rounded on one side, and the layers were all there. I went straight to working on it for Cindy's card contest, which unfortunately I didn't win. However I still love this card- Ink, cardstock, ribbon- so simple and so exciting in the end. Love it!!

Wanted : take 2

Cowgirl

6x6 card with my SU Wanted set. Was playing with colors that came up from the random SU Color generator here.
My goal was to make it look like a belt buckle. So I used some Copper Making Memories Specialty Glaze and painted areas to make it sparkle.Thursday, September 20, 2007
Vegas baby

Had written down this color combo way back, when using the online Color Combo site located here.
I have carried it around on a piece of paper and had it near my stamping stuff for a while. Finally had this card come to life. It was for my friend before she went on a trip to Vegas. The warm sun in the card is supposed to be tempered by the cool breeze in the background.

SU Ink- Purely Pomegranate, Barely Banana, Soft Sky, Close to Cocoa, Basic Black.

fall is the best
Went out this past week to find my favourite Yankee Candles for fall- Pumpkin Spice. Have been burning it off and on for the past 10 days I guess. It is beginning to feel like fall. The leaves on the trees have some changes and I love it all!! I am a fall girl!! It is my season that I find great delight in, which is ironic for a girl who doesn't really like change. Camp Creations
So I spent two weeks as camp nurse at the end of July and beginning of August. It was fantastic. In my spare time though I got to make several cards as I had taken supplies with me. I ended up with several cards that I was quite pleased with. I even made this book mark which I used while reading my book for the week at camp: Bloodletting and Miraculous Cures by Vincent Lam.
Made with scraps from my SU cardstock pile, a pink brad and a Bazzill flower.
