Rain Boots.
Still needing Rain Boots here. I whipped up this card today to thank my land lords for all they have been doing for me this month. It has been a rainy crazy month and they have been super helpful.
The flower stamp is from Penny Black.
The background swirl stamp is Stampin Up.
The saying stamp is Great Impressions.
The Patterned paper is Fancy Pants.
The rest of the paper is from my stash.
I had fun putting it together.

Umm so I love Basic Grey. Have for years now. And now I see on this blog that they have baby products including swaddling cloths and now I love them even more.

The sparkle is back....
I was told by my Doctor last week that the sparkle is back in my eye. And I feel it too. I feel like a new woman. I am loving my new weekday job. I am loving my friends and family who have stuck it out with me this year. And I am loving time to cook and clean and feel accomplished in the evening. I feel stronger, healthier, and basically better than EVER before. And that pretty much says it all.

Bday card
This birthday card was made with one of my favourite Stampin Up sets. I adore paisley overall and I just adore this paisley stamp. Polka Dots and Paisley is the name of set. And the cute saying is in the set.
Stampin Up ink and paper. The flower brad was in my stash and alas I am in love with it. I will probably never find another like it, because I have NO idea where it came from.

Christmas cards
I have been trying for over a week to get some creative mojo to make some Christmas cards. I have watched 5 Christmas movies. I have looked at all my Christmas stamps. I pulled out all of my patterned paper that is Christmasy. I have happily cheered when a skiff of snow fell one evening. I have looked at my previous year's cards. And finally yesterday I decided on the colors I am going to use for this year. And today I put together 25 Christmas cards. So let the Christmas cheer begin!!

Owl Gifties
It started just before last Christmas when Rhonda asked if I liked owls. I responded with a resounding YES. And I was given this gorgeous wall hanging quilt at our "Ladies Who Lunch" Christmas Brunch gift exchange. Rhonda made it and I have had it on my wall in my living room ever since.
Then Rhonda surprised me with this cute quilted owl in the summer time. He is so cute sitting on my bookcase.
I think I may need to expand my home to include an office of owls. What do you think??

Canvas
My new canvas that I did with Stampin Up vinyl Decor Elements quote (pg. 29 in the 2010/2011 Definitely Decorative mini catalog). It is the small option, and definitely larger than it looks in the catalog. Flowers by Prima. Paint "cream" by Heidi Swapp. Buttons from Rhonda. The canvas is 24" h by 30" w. It is now hanging in my entryway.

"And when she could no longer hope, she did not stand still but walked on in the dark. I think when the sun rises upon them, some people will be astonished to find how far they have got on in the dark." --George MacDonald

another girl
Somewhere there is another girl prettier than you, smarter than you, taller than you, skinnier than you. Another girl somewhere is more outgoing, more laid back, more interesting, more athletic. Another girl somewhere is not you. You may not be perfect, but someone someday will think you are. He will love you for each and every imperfection and flaw. He will wait all day just to see you and stay all night just to hold you. To him, you will be more than perfect, you’ll be the love of his life.

Digital
I have officially ordered the Stampin Up My Digital Studio software. After my friend and demonstrator Sarah convinced me. Yep. It is time to start scrapping digitally. Cardmaking is still my first love and I think I may like this digital thing better. Yeah for a new computer with a massive hard drive. Whoo hoo!!
And I may have ordered enough just in the nick of time to get a Saleabration set or two. The Saleabration ends on Wednesday. So get to clicking and get your order in.
I ordered some of the new clear blockable stamp sets to try out. They are still red rubber with foam mount to use on the clear blocks. I am so excited!!

Oscars
Okay so I was not a very good Oscar nominee movie watcher this year. But I did manage to make it to the movies for a couple of them. In the local movie theatre the arts council sponsors a mini Film festival of sorts every spring. It runs once a week for 6 weeks. It is my favourite time of year. (Okay, anytime there is a film festival within driving distance is my favourite time of year.) I went this last week and saw An Education at the film fest. It was fantastic. Not at all what I expected, and an amazing film all around. And it was well deserving of it's nominations.
Earlier in the year I saw The Blind Side. It made me cry and I did like it a lot.
Still on my list of movies I must see is Up in the Air.
And I have no desire to see Avatar at all, not one single bit. I don't even feel like linking to it. That is how little I care for it. Google it if you are still interested in it. I am not.
All this to say, No, I didn't get to see the Oscar's this year. I will catch up with the award winners later online.

CreAtively BlocKed
Have been creatively challenged the past 9 months. Only made 2 cards at Christmas and not much else in the past 9 months. Today I got my haircut by my good friend Cindy at Tangles Hair Design here in Chilliwack. I was telling her my latest creative bug that I was inspired by. She encouraged me to follow through on it tonight. I picked up a kit at Classic Cards on Alexander and worked on it while watching LOST. However the kitten had other plans and this is what happened next.

Quote of the day
"There are plenty of fish in the sea. But really, there's not. It's not just our imaginations. It would be great if decent men were as plentiful as jumping salmon in a rushing river, but they aren't. For every Mr. Darcy (and he's married, incidentally) there are a hundred Mr. Wickhams. Or in more contemporary terms, for every one of Colin Firth, there are several thousand Hugh Grants. The odds are against us. But what can I say-I'm a romantic, and I can't abandon the fantasy of Prince Charming altogether. What girl with a heart can? I mean, I'm not asking to feed the five thousand; I just want one good fish! I should give up the dream. Especially now, when common sense dictates that anyone possessing an IQ might want to take serious stock. If I were in battle, the general would yell, "Retreat! Retreat, stupid!" Kristin Billerbeck
This quote of the day is brought to you by one of my favourite people ever my friend Ang.

Hooray It's a boy!
My coworker and friend had her 2nd baby boy yesterday. And I got to hold him when he was 7 hours old!! He is gorgeous. So being the good "auntie" that I am I went out shopping last evening for him and his big brother. I then made this card for them when I got home. I am really liking how it turned out for starting it so late in the evening.
Supplies:
Stampin Up Baja Breeze cardstock base and ink for the star. Basic Brown for the sentiment. Stampin Up Classic Backgrounds for the star, Wordsworth for the sentiment and the inner sentiment is Unity. Patterned Paper by Imaginisce. Nestabilities for the larger stars. And Stampin Up star and corners punches, plus some brads and ta-da it is done.
